Course(s)

The 2010 Hopkinton Hop will have a couple of options, depending on how foolish one feels on race day.
  • 50K (okay, it's really 33 miles):
    • Meet at Back Bay train station.
    • Catch Amtrack train to Framingham
    • Run from Framingham to Hopkinton
    • Run from Hopkinton back into Boston.
    • Report mileage and time based on GPS unit, stopwatch or other method.
  • Short Option (26.2 miles or more, depending on how often you get lost):
    • Somehow get to Hopkinton
    • Run to Boston
    • Report time and distance based on GPS unit, stopwatch or other Google Maps.
    • (Alternatively, one can run the 50K course and turn around in Ashland)
  • Ultra Option (requires BQ):
    • Check in at Back Bay train station
    • Run to Hopkinton.
    • Stretch legs and report time.
    • Turn around and run Boston Marathon.
    • Gloat
  • Half a Hop
    • Catch train to Wellesley Square
    • Walk to the Wellesley Public Library and click "start" on your watch
    • Run to the Boston Public Library and click "stop."
    • Laugh at the sweaty fools who ran the 50K.  ;-)
  • Dessert mile
    • Continue past finish line to Mike's Pastry and buy a cannoli

Dessert Mile
When you pass the finish, keep running until you get to Mike's Pastry or Modern Pastry.  Buy a cannoli or two and amble back to the finish area to watch your wife/husband/friend finish.  Note: The Hop staff take no position on the longtime feud between the warring feud between fans of these two joints and recommends eating at both.
